Halloween Shaker Cards - 2010

These are the first cards I have ever made that I gave to anyone.  The cards and the instructions to make them were on the Circle Blog and I totally scraplifted this idea from Shantaie Fowler.  Her instructions were to fill the center with Halloween confetti, but I waited too long and couldn't find any, so I used stickers, foam spiders and glitter.  They were lot's of fun to make and her instructions were easy to follow.

I gave these cards to my granddaughters today when they came over.  We had quite a busy day, with a cookout, pumpkin carving and then trick or treating.  It was a really FUN day.

You can see the spiders inside the card through the acetate . Click on the pic to make it larger.

Labor Day Weekend at the Beach - September 2010

Labor Day weekend we went to Melbourne Beach on Florida's east coast.  It was a mini family reunion with lots of family members, children, grandchildren, neices, nephews, brothers and sisters,  and we all had such a wonderful time.  I put together this layout of my granddaughters and I will probably do some more pages of other family members.  I entered this layout in the Cricut Circle "Going Places Labor Day" contest and guess what?  I was one of the winners!!  I was so excited.

These are our beautiful granddaughters, 4 y/o McKenna and 1 y/o Delaney having fun at the beach.

This pic was taken from our 6th floor balcony.  Beautiful view!

This pic was also taken from our 6th floor balcony as a storm rolled in our last night there.

Decorating For Halloween - October 2009

McKenna and Grandpa decorated the front yard with these scarecrows for Halloween.  She was so excited and decided to name the scarecrows HURLEY, BURLEY and SHIRLY. This layout was my entry in the Cricut Circle "All For Fall" contest.

Bath Time Fun

My granddaughters LOVE to play in the bath tub, so I made this double page layout of them having fun in the tub.  This layout was also my entry in the Cricut Circle Blog "Think Pink" contest.

McKenna was having a ball making funny hair styles with the bubbles.  Her laugh is so infectious.

Delaney and Mckenna were wearing their dessert on their faces.  Yummy!!

Scrapbook Pics

About a year or so ago, my husband's uncle wrote a series of short narratives about growing up poor in Alabama with his brother (my husband's father).  My father in law passed away in 2005 and these narratives  provided us with an insight into his life that we never had before. We appreciated his uncle's efforts so much that I made a scrapbook to preserve his narratives. I actually made two identical ones, one for my husband and one for his uncle. Here are a few pics from the scrapbook.

Gypsy Font

Background is digital paper from PSE8.
Growing Up is Plantin Schoolbook
Tree is from Stamping Solutions
Grass is from Zooballoo (I think)

Each of the six narratives are preceded in the scrapbook by a page similar to the one above and each page has a small silhouette on each side.  The silhouettes are different on each page and all were cut from ACY.
Book and shadow is from My Community
Boys silhouettes are from A Child's Year

The picture on the left is my father in law when he first joined the Navy in his late teens.
The picture on the right was taken just before he retired from the Navy.
The flag border, United States of America and Liberty were cut from Stand and Salute.
The Liberty Bell, Navy emblems and anchor are from K&Company.

The picture on the left is my husband's uncle when he first joined the Army in his late teens.
The picture on the right was taken just before he retired from the Army.
The flag border, Honor and American Pride were cut from Stand and Salute.
The helicopter, Army emblems and US map with flag are from K&Company.

A few years before he passed away, my father in law and his brother revisited the neighborhood they grew up in and took pictures of their old house, schools, cotton mill, and everything else they could remember.  I included all those pics in the scrapbook as well.

Halloween 2009

I know I'm REALLY late with this lay out, but what can I say, it just kept getting put aside for other things. But here it is, my two favorite subjects at the pumpkin patch.  They were 3 1/2 and 4 months at the time.

You can hardly see the baby in the far right hand photo.  She really is a cute pumpkin!

Granddaughter's 1st Birthday

We had a pool party for my granddaughter's 1st birthday last weekend.  Here are a few pics of her:
This is her floating in the spa.
Waiting to open presents!
Yes!  Presents!  She liked the wrapping paper and the bows...
What do I do with this??
Oh yeah!!
Yum!! Yum!!
My daughter-in-law and I cut a lot of images from Create A Critter and Life Is a Beach and hung the cutouts from any available spot on the lanai. Here are pics of a few of our creations.
These are the goody bags she made for all the kids.
